Journey by Bus
Journey is always pleasant (আনন্দদায়ক) to all. Among all the journeys, a journey by bus is very interesting to me. It gives us a new experience (অভিজ্ঞতা). We can cover a long distance with in a very short time. A few (কিছু) days ago I made a journey by bus from Dhaka to Chittagong.
During the last summer vacation (ছুটি) one of my friends Mofiz Khan requested me to attend his sister’s marriage ceremony at Chittagong. So I got a chance (সুযোগ) to journey by bus. I accepted (গ্রহন করলাম) this invitation (দাওয়াত) gladly (আনন্দের সাথে). Two other friends joined (যোগ দিল) me.
One the fixed (নির্দিষ্ট) day we reached ‘Mohakhali Bus’ station at 7 a.m. The station was very crowded (ভীড়). With difficulty we bought our tickets. Then we got into (প্রবেশ করলাম) the bus. I got my seat beside (পাশে) the window. After a few minutes the bus began to move on. At first the bus moved on slowly. Then it began to run in full speed (গতি).
I kept looking outside through (মধ্য দিয়ে) the window. The bus was passing through the green fields. Trees and houses seemed (মনে হল) to run behind. We saw the farmers working in the field. Cattle (গবাদি পশু) were grazing (ঘাস খাওয়া) here and there (এদিক ওদিক). I enjoyed the scenes (দৃশ্য) with cheerful (আনন্দদায়ক/প্রফুল্ল) mind. Then the bus stopped at a big station. We bought boiled (সিদ্ধ) eggs, bananas, magazines etc. We saw the hills (পাহাড়) of Chittagong. All these pleased (আনন্দ) me very much.
The inside (ভিতর) environment (পরিবেশ) of the bus also offered me a wonderful scene. I saw some passengers (যাত্রী) were talking on many subjects. Some were reading books, some were telling jokes (কৌতুক) and laughing. Two poor men were asking passengers for help them.
At last the bus reached Chittagong at 5 p.m. We got down (নিচে নামলাম) from from the bus and saw my friend at the station. He came to receive us. He became very pleased (আনন্দ) to see us. Then we went with him by rickshaw.
It was the most pleasant (আনন্দদায়ক) journey in my life. I enjoyed (উপভোগ করলাম) the journey so much that the memory (স্মৃতি) of the journey will remain (থাকা) ever fresh (সতেজ) in my mind.
