Water pollution
Pollution is probably the most talked word of the world. Our environment is polluted in many ways and forms. Water pollution is one of the environmental pollution. Water is a very important element (উপাদান) of our environment. It is an essential (প্রয়োজনীয়) element of nature because it saves all kinds of lives on earth. Clean water is healthful (স্বাস্থ্যকর) but polluted water is very harmful (ক্ষতিকর) for us. Now-a-days water pollution is one of the serious (মারাত্মক) problems of the world. Water can be polluted in many ways. Farmers use chemical (রাসায়নিক) fertilizers (সার) and insecticide (কীটনাশক) in their fields to grow more crops.
The rain and floods wash away (ধুয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া) some of the chemicals. They get mixed river water, canal water, and pond water. Mills and factories pollute water by throwing (নিক্ষেপ) the waste materials (উপকরণ) and unsold (অবিক্রিত) products into the rivers and canals. Unsanitary (অস্বাস্থ্যকর/নোংরা/অপরিচ্ছন্ন) latrines in the countryside (গ্রামাঞ্চল) standing on the banks (তীর) of the rivers, and canals also pollute water. Again motor launches, steamers pollute water by throwing oil, food waste and human waste. Another aspect (দৃষ্টিকোন) is pollution of underground (ভূগর্ভস্থ) water by arsenic (আর্সেনিক). By drinking this polluted water we often get sick and may even (এমনকি) die. Water pollution can be prevented in many ways. First of all, we should make the people aware of (সচেতন করা) the fact that water is next to the air. It is called life. So chemical (রাসায়নিক) fertilizer (সার) and insecticide (কীটনাশক) should not be allowed to mix with river water, canal water and pond water. Mills and factories should not through the waste materials and unsold products into the rivers and canals. Steamers, motor launches and even sail boats should not through oil, food waste and human waste into the rivers and canals. Unsanitary latrines in the countryside (গ্রামাঞ্চল) should not be built on the banks of the rivers and canals. Government should take proper steps to control water pollution. Above all (সর্বোপরি), for a healthier and happier life, massive (বড় রকম) awareness (সচেতনতা) must be created against (বিরুদ্ধে) water pollution.
