you about an important matter. |

Rahim | : | Pollution is probably the most talked word of the world. Our environment is polluted in many ways and forms. Water pollution is one of the environmental pollution. |
| Sharif | : | Thanks. Can you tell me what are the causes of water pollution? |
Rahim | : | Water can be polluted in many ways. Farmers use chemical (রাসায়নিক) fertilizers (সার) and insecticide (কীটনাশক) in their fields to grow more crops. The rain and floods wash away (ধুয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া) some of the chemicals. They get mixed river water, canal water, and pond water. It is one of the main causes of water solution. |
| Sharif | : | I think mills and factories pollute water by throwing (নিক্ষেপ) the waste materials (উপকরণ) and unsold (অবিক্রিত) products into the rivers and canals. |
| Rahim | : | Yes, you are right. Another aspect (দৃষ্টিকোন) is pollution of underground (ভূগর্ভস্থ) water by arsenic (আর্সেনিক). By drinking this polluted water we often get sick and may even (এমনকি) die. |
| Sharif | : | However, How can we stop it? |
| Rahim | : | Water pollution can be prevented in many ways. First of all, we should make the people aware of (সচেতন করা) the fact that water is next to the air. It is called life. |
| Sharif | : | Absolutely right. I think chemical (রাসায়নিক) fertilizer (সার) and insecticide (কীটনাশক) should not be allowed to mix with river water, canal water and pond water. Mills and factories should not through the waste materials and unsold products into the rivers and canals. |
| Rahim | : | Is there any other solution? |
| Sharif | : | Unsanitary latrines in the countryside (গ্রামাঞ্চল) should not be built on the banks of the rivers and canals. |
| Rahim | : | In this regard, what should our government do? |
| Sharif | : | Government should take proper steps to control water pollution. |
| Rahim | : | Above all (সর্বোপরি), for a healthier and happier life, massive (বড় রকম) awareness (সচেতনতা) must be created against (বিরুদ্ধে) water pollution. |
| Sharif | : | Thank you very much.
