July Revolution- 2024 -Paragraph

July Movement will remain a memorable chapter in the history of Bangladesh forever. It is termed as the second independence of Bangladesh. This movement started in July. The July Movement started with the demand to abolish the quota system in government jobs. Anti-discrimination students launched the movement against the existing quota system. The deaths of students Abu Sayeed, Mir Mughda and Wasim Akram in police firing further strengthened the movement, which spread across the country. When the government used the police and Chhatra League to control the situation, it turned into a massacre.

As a result, many students and ordinary people were killed. Even after reforming the quota, the students again called for a movement to demand justice for the martyrs. Finally, the demand of the people in this movement was the resignation of Sheikh Hasina. Under increasing pressure and the determination of the army chief, Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country to neighboring India. The second freedom of Bangladesh was achieved in exchange of the fresh lives. The people of the country were freed from the long dictatorship of almost 16 years. This movement in 2024 brought new hope to the nation and was recognized by many as Bangladesh’s second independence. Generation G has shown that they can bring about innovation at will. So, the July Movement will be a historical event in the history of Bangladesh.
