spot in Sylhet. It is basically famous for its beauty, boulders, betel nuts. It
is also famous for its megalithic archaeological ruins. It is actually a scenic
spot amidst tea gardens. Visiting the spot one will definitely be impressed. It
is located at the foot of Khasia-Jainta hills. It is a place of pristine
loveliness. The Piayin river goes through Jafflong. The river is woven tightly
into the lives of the local people. A riverboat trip is one of the main
attractions here. One can refresh one’s mind and mentality by a riverboat trip
here. One can be lost in nature if one visits the spot. Visiting the tranquil
environment of nature, one can feel the existence of God here.
But it is a matter of great regret that the spot is
losing its natural beauties and charms gradually for want of proper maintenance
and preservation. The Piayin river is going to be filled up because of
siltation. It should be excavated as early as possible to keep its navigability.
