| Tozammel | : | One of my friend’s mother died yesterday in a terrible street accident. | |
| Mofiz Khan | : | Very sad news! Actually, road accidents nowadays have become very common in our country. | |
| Tozammel | : | Everyday many people fall victim to road accidents. Consequently, irreparable (অপূরণীয়) losses (ক্ষতি) are caused to lives and properties. In some worse cases, people lose their valuable lives (জীবন). | |
| Mofiz Khan | : | It’s really a matter of great concern. Do you know the causes of street accidents? | |
| Tozammel | : | I think, reckless (বেপরোয়া) driving, indiscriminate (এলোমেলো/এলোপাথাড়ী) stop of vehicles to pick up (তোলা/উঠানো) and get down (নামা) passengers, increase of unlicensed (লাইসেন্সবিহীন) and faulty (ত্রুটিযুক্ত) vehicles (যানবাহন), vehicles laden (বোঝাই করা) with more passengers and goods (মালামাল), violation (অমান্য করা) of traffic rules, unskilled (অদক্ষ) drivers are basically (মূলত) responsible (দায়ী) for street accidents. | |

Tozammel | : | Yes, Immediate (তাৎক্ষনিক/সরাসরি) steps (পদক্ষেপ) should be taken to reduce (কমানো) street accidents. | |
| Mofiz Khan | : | I think, first of all, reckless (বেপরোয়া) driving should be stopped at any cost (যে কোন মূল্যে) Secondly, those who violate (অমান্য করা) traffic rules should be given punishment (শাস্তি) and penalty (জরিমানা). Thirdly, unlicensed and unfit (অযোগ্য/অনুপযোগী) vehicles should be seized (ধরা) and destroyed (ধ্বংস). Fourthly, more flyovers and foot over bridges should be built; besides, our streets should be widened (প্রশস্ত). | |
| Tozammel | : | Absolutely! Besides, drivers should be given proper training and the Roads and Highways Department should be more cautious (সতর্ক) in this regard. They should set up (স্থাপন করা) training institutions across the country. | |
