Write a dialogue between you and your friend about how to develop/improve
skills in English language.
| Sanjana | : | Good morning. How are you? | |
| Sujana | : | Good morning. I’m fine and you? | |
| Sanjana | : | I am also fine. However, what is the improvement of your English language? | |
| Sujana | : | I have
become serious about learning better English. From today, I will not speak
Bangla with you. | |
| Sanjana | : | But why? | |
| Sujana | : | I want to practice
spoken English. I want to do better in my next IELTS exam. Please tell me the
ways how can I improve my English? | |
| Sanjana | : | Well. First of all,
if we want to develop our spoken English we have to speak in English always. We
should not think of other’s criticism (সমালোচনা). | |
| Sujana | : | Are there anything
more? | |
| Sanjana | : | We should also
develop our reading and writing habits. | |
| Sujana | : | But how can we do
that? | |
| Sanjana | : | We can develop
reading skill through reading of literature, magazines and newspapers. | |
Sujana | : | Are there anything
more? | |
| Sanjana | : | Yes. For the overall
command we need to know grammar. We cannot avoid it. Grammar is necessary for
making the language understandable to all and for better communication. | |
Sujana | : | That’s great, I never thought like that.
Will you suggest me any other technic? | |
| Sanjana | : | Yes, of course. You
should not cram (না বুঝে মুখস্ত করা) anything. You must try to understand what you
read. You should enrich your stock of vocabulary. For this you can read various
story books. Whenever you heard a new word, then you should write it on your
notebook. Then you should memorize it by making different types of
sentences. | |
